A treasure box for Jane

The plain papier maché box
The plain papier mâché box

In Switzerland,  even the supermarkets have a handicrafts section and there are lot of emporia where you can buy everything – from painting and modelling to knitting and sewing and lots, lots more.

I bought the papier mâché box several years ago in Migros – a large Swiss supermarket near where Jane lives. Now that she is coming for a  weekend I finally got round to covering it with Decopatch paper. Jane specialises in making up boxes of little gifts for our birthdays. I will fill hers with bits and pieces from MUJI and from various art galleries I’ve visited lately.

A sunny London morning

Trying built in borders is irresistible, even if they are a bit daft
Trying built in borders is irresistible, even if they are a bit naff

Finally a sunny morning though it’s still a bit cool. Amazing to think only a couple of weeks ago we woke to temperatures of 21°C.

Trying out Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 and couldn’t resist this silly border. Might even use the image as a birthday card. Resent the prices you have to pay for cards these days and always make my own.

The masks were in a shop window in the  little walled town near the Gruyere cheese factory in Switzerland.

Jane’s Birthday

A Happy Birthday day in Switzerland

A card I made for Jane – at least I bought the card with a cut-out apple and filled in it with layers of folded Japanese origami paper. I but the cut-out cards when I see them and have used cut out boats, hot air balloons and a football for the children and grandchildren.
